Career Technical Student Organizations
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) align with the fourteen career clusters, providing students with hands-on work experiences that supplement classroom learning. Members develop leadership skills, participate in competitive events, and network with peers and industry partners.
According to Advance CTE, students who participate in CTSOs demonstrate higher levels of academic engagement and motivation, as well as civic engagement, career self-efficacy, and employability skills. CTSOs also promote leadership to ensure that New Mexico students have opportunities to develop essential skills for success as employees in a competitive economy.
New Mexico schools support 8 CTSOs: Business Professionals of America (BPA), DECA, Educators Rising, Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), HOSA Future Health Professionals, FFA, SkillsUSA, and Technology Student Association (TSA).
