New Mexico Teacher Observation Tool Domains with Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Practices Highlighted

Culturally and Linguistically Responsive (CLR) Instruction recognizes students’ languages, identities, and cultural experiences as assets in the classroom. By focusing on professional development for educators and leadership teams, this approach strengthens teaching practices that reflect and honor the diverse backgrounds of New Mexico’s students. Collaborative efforts with schools, communities, and partners help integrate CLR practices into whole child education, creating more inclusive, equitable, and engaging learning environments.
