Current Canvas Programs

Advanced Placement Learning (APL) Micro-Credentials

The Advance Program Level (APL) micro-credentials support teachers in advancing their licensure from Level 1 to 2 and Level 2 to 3 through competency-based courses. Aligned with the Elevate NM educator evaluation system, these courses bridge instruction and evaluation by focusing on skills for “Applying” and “Innovating” teaching practices. Upon successful completion and mastery of the material with facilitator guidance, educators earn a culminating badge to apply for licensure advancement.

Elevate & Excel Evaluation System

Elevate NM and Excel NM are New Mexico’s educator and site administrator evaluation systems designed to promote growth, reflection, and continuous improvement. Elevate NM supports teachers through a revised Danielson Framework that was thoughtfully adapted in collaboration with New Mexico educators to reflect the realities of teaching and learning in our state. Excel NM, developed with input from school leaders across New Mexico, replaces the former HOUSSE program and focuses on strengthening site administrator performance through clear goals and actionable development. Both systems will be implemented statewide via Canvas beginning in the 2024–2025 school year, making evaluations more accessible, streamlined, and impactful.
