The Black Education Act (BEA) was created to improve Black Education within the state of New Mexico for public, chartered, and post-secondary schools. The bill’s goal is to improve graduation rates for African American students graduating from high school and post-secondary institutions.

Our vision is to be recognized as a national model for holistic culturally relevant best practices that help to improve educational outcomes for black students.

Guided by HB 43, our mission is to improve educational outcomes for black students in New Mexico through holistic culturally relevant resources and supports.
