Support and Accountability

In response to the Court’s order, the NMPED will continue to provide oversight of programs and student outcomes across schools, districts, and charter schools. This includes offering direct support and launching New Mexico Vistas to track annual progress aligned to the Martinez/Yazzie findings. Districts and charter schools will receive ongoing guidance from NMPED, developed in partnership with early adopters. Regional trainings, webinars, and resources will be made available to support implementation efforts. When a district or charter school is not making meaningful progress in advancing its framework or addressing student learning needs, NMPED will activate a progressive action plan. This begins with identifying specific areas for improvement in collaboration with school and district leadership. If changes persist, NMPED will engage in on-site monitoring to help address areas of concern. In cases where significant issues remain unaddressed, further action may be taken under [Section 22-2-14 NMSA 1978] to make sure funding, staffing, and resources are directed where they are most needed. This work requires shared responsibility and a deep commitment to student success, not just compliance. NMPED remains dedicated to working alongside educators, families, and communities across New Mexico to support students in becoming confident in who they are, healthy, secure in their identity, and holistically prepared for college, career, and life.

Supplemental Learning Modules

Guided by feedback from New Mexico educators, these supplemental modules focus on the Martinez and Yazzie Consolidated Lawsuit student groups and strategic resource allocation. Module 1 is designed to guide School Core Teams through a process of examining and addressing the needs of at-risk students throughout their planning activities, followed by Module 2 which is designed to guide school leaders through the basics of New Mexico funding and strategic resource allocation. Equity Councils are encouraged to complete and use both modules. Click on the titles below to access the modules on the NM DASH webpages.

The DASH Resource Library contains a compilation of materials available to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring activities of schools and districts working towards the New Mexico Ideal State. It includes resources to guide offline planning activities, materials from professional development events and trainings, webinar archives, suggested readings, and other resources to support improving the academic outcome for students. The library also includes DASH user guides and other website technical support materials.

The New Mexico School DASHboard provides parents, community members, and all stakeholders with meaningful information on school improvement plans and their decisions to improve student learning. This public-facing DASHboard was at the direct request of end users from last year’s stakeholder engagement, and we are pleased to be able to have met their ask. Attached is the guidance doc as to navigating the tool and the new look at feel, which was intentional to support the separation from the NM DASH ED Plan.
